Why should certain races get angry over racial slurs when they themselves talk to each other in that way?

TOUCHE' I have finally met another person who feels the same as I do about this epidemic of allowing ethnic groups to get away with degrading themselves to eachother, to others and on videos and media BUT WHEN A WHITE PERSON REPEATS EVEN ONE WORD OF WHAT THEY SAID, THEY ARE CONSIDERED RACISTS--Time for everyone to get real folks- or we will and I do predict this, we will have another revolution in this country but the conservative suits will not be the winners in this one....there will be burning down of the houses, but it won't be the shacks in the South-- they outnumber the rest of the US.....I believe respect should be given when respect is earned-- if you do not have the dignity to respect your own ethnic people, why should anyone else? and leave ethnicity out of it-- this applies to every human on this earth!!!

I am not black, but I certainly felt he should have been fired. Aside from the racial slur, he made a slur on the character of the young women on that basketball team. Would you want your daughter to be called a whore on a nationally televised program? Imus did not know these girls at all, he had no right to disparage their character, nor further do so by including the racial slur. That anyone defended him for belittling innocent girls for his own commercial gain (he gets paid to talk and gripe and criticize) is really disgusting to me. Like I said, would you or anyone else stand for someone to publicly call your child a vicious name, and include a derogatory racial term to boot?

Imus made a bad joke .. he said that he was sorry for it... that should have been the end of it but, Big *** Al Sharpton wants to divide the races as he has always done. I think this time he has really done it, just look on the blogs the name calling from both races has got out of hand !!! People need to wake up Al Sharpton is the racist and has always been a racist. He is the one that should have been fired.

The racial slur was enough for me but to call them Ho's and such was just so rediculous and over the top. These young ladies are in a major league college are excellent students and athletes. And im sorry but you would not want your daughter called a whore and more and picked on and treated like a stupid piece of flesh by some ignorant man looking for a rating or laugh or what ever it was. He has done this and said rotten things in the past usually aimed at women. God only knows why his wife tolerates it and him.

Money, advertisers fled , employees of cbs and msnbc were mad as hell and didn't want to take it anymore and people found Imus' remarks to be what they thought the last straw. Although I think Rush Limbaugh's supposed satirical song about Barrack O'Bamma should get him fired as well, but the GOP ain't gonna let that happen. Hypocritical attitude really but Rush is more GOP friendly than Imus.

If Imus wasn't fired, it would've opened the door for racists everywhere to voice their opinions.
People seem to view this as a bad thing ;; I consider it freedom of speech...
If I want to make racial slurs toward others, I should be allowed to do so openly.

Imus was fired as a gesture to quell the ire of programming sponsors and an angry public.

Don't feel too bad for him though, I'm sure he won't be homeless at anytime soon.

Some new controversial personality will soon take his place... after-all the networks have ratings to consider too.

He was fired for that reason. Its called a double standard or selective enforcement.

I remember listening to a comedian named Paul Mooney and his entire act was the "N" word and he would begin each segment by saying "don't worry, i'll be makin fun o white folks, dont worry"

We now live in a world where everyone is afraid to say anything for fear of being branded a racist.

The biggest idiot to point that finger at others is (the so called) Rev. AL SHARPTON who in the early 90s protested for a young black girl tamed Tawana Brawley who claimed she was gang raped by a few white males. He accused the police of not doing enough investigating on it, Held parades in protest of the NYPD only to find out later that she made the whole story up.Oh and by the way,the NYPD are still waiting for this black racists appology
