I heard this today and was wondering if ANYONE actually heard of this.
I was told because of the rising gas price is because that the gas company's put special additives in because of emissions during the hot months. HUH???
What about the goverment giving us a tax break, and not charge tax, so that everyone pays the same amout for gas.
Every state has a different tax %, and to help with the rising cost, wouldn't it be nice if they took the tax away till the price came down?

bull............it,s pure greed.............most people drive more,vacation,etc.......what better time to rip you off!.......year,s ago....during the gas shortage in the early 70,s...I worked at a gas station.....just before the so called shortage ...we were having a promotion....a free anchor hocking glass with a 3 dollar purchase.....we ran out of glasses....so I ordered more from Arco...formerly Sinclair....they said OK.....next day they called & said the promo. was off....a few day,s later there was a gas shortage....that lasted untill the price reached 1.00 per gallon...then all of a sudden...no more shortage.....it,s been escalating ever since....they just want us to pay the same as they do in europe....make their fortune before they run out of crude!

That's just what big oil wants you to believe.
They do put different additives in the winter and in the summer in most areas, but the cost difference would be minimal, if any.
As stated, it is due to the higher amount of vacation travel done during the summer months. People just drive more during summer, so they charge more during the summer.
They come up with all kinds of excuses why the price is higher ... oil refinery down ... pipeline burst ... extra additives ... etc. But if it really was costing them more to do that, they wouldn't be posting record profits every quarter.

No possibility of that going on, as international call for keeps going up, in some places it is going quite much via the hour. united statesa. would be over $7.00 a gallon via Christmas, as a results of fact Liberal tree huggers won't enable us to drill oil in the U.S.

No way, my husband says gas prices go up in summer cause people travel more so, more gas is used, more money for the government.

that's just the LIE oil companies think we are dumb enough to believe. it is really just greed. they make billions every summer using the same excuse each summer. they do not care what it does to you, your family, or your country. this is one area where congress DOES need to take control of with price caps and strict profit regulations /
