i forgot to put the p.o. box on the envolope?

i recently bought an item on ebay by way of money order but forgot to put the p.o box when mailing it if the letter is going to be returned to me how long will it take?
P.S. the letter is going to Canada and im in california

Hopefully, you put on your return mail address. In such situations, you may find a two to three week delay in having the envelope returned to you, since post offices generally make an attempt to deliver as best as they can, even without a proper address. When they have exhausted their efforts, the letter will eventually come back to you.
