3x(x^2- 3x + 4)

= 3x.(x² - 3x + 4)
However if question was:-
3x³ - 9x² - 12x
3x.(x² - 3x - 4)
3.(x - 4).(x + 1)

divide out 3x

3x(x^2 -3x + 4)

that is the simplest form
