When your baby is sucking regularly but it takes more than 20 minutes to finish a bottle is one sign they may be ready for the next size. The other is when they are sucking but there is a "popping" or "clicking" noise (hard to describe, but put your lips together then suck in and you will make the same popping sound). Those are the indications your baby is ready for the next size nipple. You can always try the next size and if she gags because its coming too fast, go back down to the slow flow.

When you swich your baby to the bigger size bottle there will be the stage 2 nipples. So i would say at about 3-4 months old.

Ask your pediatrician. Some babies can handle the faster flow of the Stage 2 before others can. We waited until our daughter was 4 months because she has a small mouth and we were afraid she'd get too much too fast and choke.

Sorry I can't help you out... I'm nursing my daughter. Thank God I never had to deal with stage two anything... I didn't even know there were stages to bottle feeding!!!

If it's anything like solids... then six months is considered stage two for that...
