what are they? humps, hillocks and mounds, they form teh tapestry of our landscape, they give it texture, create relief and without intent they show lines, gradation, indentation and rutted pathways.... to impassible peaks....teetering at the edge of the abyss...defyinig gravity...hanging...

think of viewpoint, at eyelevel its a small hill, on your belly its a jungle with foothills and a mountain, on a ladder its a bump... what do we not see in the shadows... what does the lack of light do to the landscape? it gives it defininition... look in the early morning as the sun rises, and again as the sun is setting, you will see two different scenes.... different light and different shadows...

and hills doesnt nessecarily mean landscapes.. what about hills, as in goals, mararthon runners, footballers at the end of the game... struggling. forts and castles are on hilltops, the electric brae is a gravity defying hill in scotland... jimmy hill is a football commentator.... damon hill was a racing driver..as was his dad.

hill billy /hill climber/ hill-ton paris/the fool on the hill, teh beatles...
churches are always on hills/ lookout posts were also atop hills/ and of course the hills have eyes...

hills-borough was a football disaster... and teh hillman hunter was a motorcar... I DONT KNOW! but as you might guess, i already did this many years ago.. interpret the brief. think outside the box...

good luck

Under hill, over hill,on the hill, down the hill,up the hill, through the hill(tunnels),round the hill,on top of the hill.Choose a hill you know or like, did you ride your bike down a hill as a kid?,what about the hovis kid coming up the hill with the bread etc,the hills have eyes, hills on other planets, literal hills or metaphorical hills , like over the hill(past it).Why are you struggling up hill on this one, come on buck up and get with it.Cop out and just paint a hill, there is a painting i forget (shoot me) who by that had a house on the hill with a girl sitting with her legs to one side with her back to the viewer and it was done with a sort of menacing sky and both her and the house were in almost the 3rds and 5ths positions on the canvas,it is a burned image in my mind.Go create an image that will burn in someones mind forever.

How hills are created, glaciation, the idea of something powerful enough to, literally, move mountains ... drumlins, marshes in between them - what defines a 'hill'? The highest 'mountain' in the Netherlands is smaller than a hill near my house. Hungry Hill. Is a hill a vantage point or an obstruction to one's view? Full of rocks, earth, possible hidden (buried) human settlements from millenia ago ... geology, volcanoes, caves ... hills can be giant sponges, think of the Burren in Ireland, now those are interesting hills.

Knock yourself out.
