Please tell me the secret of how I get good service from Comcast? Why is customer service not in their vocabulary?

Should I start a petition to have Comcast ousted from Northern California and get a decent cable company, like Cox Cable up here?

If you think Cox is a good company, you may be in for some surprises. Admittedly, Comcast is horrible. Perhaps the worst company to ever offer cable service in the U.S. That having been said, most cable companies are awful.

I don't know what your issue is, but it can be resolved by not yelling, but by being firm with the people on the line. Ask to be moved up to a tier two agent or a supervisor or whatever they call it. If they give you anything other than direct answers, stop them and ask if there's anyone else you can speak to about the issue.

A supervisor level person USUALLY will respond very well to a rational person who expresses in CLEAR terms, what their problem is and how frustrated they have been by the process thus far.

It takes a lot of perseverance. Nothing you can do as far as complaints to the FCC or to the corporate office will change their business model. All you can do is resolve your own problems and if that doesn't work, go with a dish... where you'll encounter a whole new plethora of disappointment and frustration.

Sorry.

Comcast is as good as Adelphia used to be. Complete GARBAGE. They gave me a deal. First 6 months I pay 70 then it goes up 13 dollars so I'll be paying $83. After a year it goes up to the *normal* rate which is $136. It's nice that they get you to sign up initially by being cheaper than the competition, but it's FANTASTIC THAT IT DOUBLES THE PRICE IN A YEAR!

When that year hits It's getting shut off. Going with Direct TV and DSL.
