The industrial and agrarian economies merged and survived in both the North and the South.

Slavery was abolished, although complete civil equality is still being fought for.

The county kept a unified government and maintained it to this day. We could NOT have become a major world power in the 20th century had the continental US remained split into 2 (or perhaps more) nations had the South won.

-Slavery ending quicker -> I'm sure slavery would have ended by now but, the Civil Rights movement might still be going on.
-A larger united country especially during World War I and World War II
