everybody left out the half-blood prince part
harry doesn't realise that a new potions teacher has come and he can take NEWT potions even though he didn't get a E on his potions owl until its too late to buy potions book
so he borrows one and in its cover it says "the half-blood prince"
so anyway it has a lot of writing in it like created spells and new ways to do potions (which make them perfect which pisses herminone off)
anyway he uses one spell on malfoy because in the book it says for enemies and it slashes him and blood pours out everywhere...snape yells and says get me your potions book
but harry gives him ron's instead but snape knew
later on in the book snape admits he's the half-blood prince
his father was a muggle and his mother's maddien name was prince
harry just about crys at this news

Half Blood Prince is awesome!!! It keeps you guessing until the end. To make a long story short Harry and Dumbledore go looking for Horcruxes, which are pretty much pieces of Voldemort's soul. Dumbledore dies, Snape killed him. Harry and Ginny date, but break up at the end. It does not say for sure, but you can assume that Ron and Hermione are going to be together.

It is a great book. In a nutshell:
In HBP, Harry learns much about the backround of Lord Voldemort, his weakness and how to attack it. Meanwhile, Malfoy attempt to kill Dumbledore and succeeds--in a most unexpected manner.

i totally love HPHBP...okayy, so...harry have been kept in the dark about voldy and stuff...and he was still feeling down because sirius is dead and stuff....dumbledore went to get harry at the dursleys to take him to the burrow...he also told the dursleys that harry needs to come home to their house the upcoming summer for the last time, because he has this magical protection that he gave harry when he was baby...harry then persuaded slughorn to teach at hogwarts...blah blah blah...nothing really interesting happened until harry starts receiving lessons from dumbledore and he learns about the horcrux...so one day harry and dumbleore went to find a horcrux, but death eaters were there, they fight, snape killed dumbledore and they find out that the horcrux harry and dumbledore got was fake...and harry and ginny started dating...

Such a good book.....If you read it yourself you will really enjoy the excitement, sadness, and awareness leading to the end ..... Telling you really ruins it for all and especially you.....

whatever you do, don't give away te ending. just say "the ending is a shocking twist" or something like that.
