The answer could be a couple of things - so check them in this order.
1. Remove all the paper from the machine.
2. Open it up and make certain nothing is stuck inside.
3. Close it up.
4. Power it off.
5. Check the cable from the printer to the PC. Firm in both places?
6. Reinsert the paper.
7. Power it on.
8. See if the light continues to blink.

At this point if the light continues to blink then you have a problem with either the toner cartridge or the PC itself.

Assuming a Windows version of operating system look in the lower right hand corner of the task bar. Is there a little printer there? Well go ahead and click it.

When it opens up delete what ever is there. Rebooting the PC after deleting is even better!

If there was nothing in the corner - no little printer - then check to see if the toner cartridge is empty.

After doing all this if the light is still blinking then take it to a shop!

Go to the manufacturer and see if there is a forum where others have run into the same problem or if there is a place for you to contact for help.

Just a couple of months ago I discarded an almost-new all-in-one with the same problem. The printer indicated a paper jam - but there was no jam. Another user at the forum said he located the sensor and was able to correct it but I was unable to do so. I am not happy about this and hope you have better luck.

How about looking in the print manual that came with the printer to see what is means?

You have not bothered to specify the printer so how can anyone know what the flashing red light means?

try turning off the printer for a few minutes then turn back on...also while doing that delete all jobs from the printer queue....this usually works for my all-in-one printer
