I had gestational diabetes with my three year old. I 28 weeks pregnant will be 29 weeks on Wednesday. I was tested with this pregnancy at 19 weeks and they told me I was normal. I was tested again last week and they said the test came back normal. I'm just wondering how many woman had it with their first pregnancy and didn't have it with their second.

I did. I had it at 28 weeks with my first but not at all with my second.

Of course, the second time around I did not use it as an excuse to eat everything in sight ;-) but I also exercised less because I was more exhausted.

I had it with my first and my son was 9 lbs. 1 oz., born at 38 wks. I am 37.5 weeks with this pregnancy and supposedly I am not diabetic. I took the one hour test and it came back high, so I took the long test and it came back clear. But afterwards I started thinking about it and I remember my doctor said they'd give me a different drink for the 3 hour test and from what I could tell the drink was exactly the same as the first. Then I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and this baby is already very big. I went to the doctor Tuesday and she said my sugar levels were too high. I'm starting to really think they messed up my test. I have been dieting like a diabetic this entire pregnancy just because I figured I would have it again. I asked my doc if the lab could have messed up the test (they miscalculated the down-syndrome test already) and she said more than likely not, that I am probably developing diabetes late in the pregnancy. The best I can tell you is to continue to diet like a diabetic because the doc could be wrong.
