Sorry...but I just caaaaaaan't find the answer..I tried to read wikipedia, the video that was supposed to help us answer this question didn't help at all..since we didn't get to finish it...Science..is not my best subject

An ore is a naturally-occurring substance from which it is economical to extract the element concerned. Now ancient people didn't know about economics! And until they discovered the reducing ability of hot charcoal, they couldn't reduce iron ore.

So the overall answer is no.
