Many of the worlds leading scientist have asked to have their names removed from studies preporting to contain justifiable evidence that Global Warming is the result of hydrocarbon based fuels and not the natural evolution of earth. Many of today's politicians have latched on to this issue without having any scientific background what so ever to claim the happening is in fact true or false. Would it not be great if our leaders were made to obtain a verifiable background in the science of their statements or they couldnt hold themselves up to be experts?

I agree that most politicians never bother getting all the evidence before making up their minds on an issue. But to truly understand all the evidence, you would have to be a climate scientist yourself! So it's impossible for a non-scientist to understand *every* nuance of the situation. (I still think politicians could learn more than they do, about everything, not just global warming, but that's another issue!)

More than half of the leading scientists? Where are you getting that number from? Did you do the research and poll all the leading climate scientists, or are you just taking someone else's word for it, just like politicians do? Have you actually talked with a climate scientist and gotten his or her perspective?

Standing is correct. I am not an earth science teacher, but I am a 4th year geology major and having managed to get an A in both History of the Earth and Paleontology I can tell you with complete assurance that global warming is without a doubt a natural phenomenon that has not been caused by us or anyone else. All one needs to do is look at the Earth's history of sea-levels and temperatures.

Global warming is a political issue, and is in *reality* nothing to be concerned about. It cannot be prevented, and it cannot be stopped. Any scientist worth their salt would say that the best way to deal with it is to ADAPT to it...you know..that whole natural selection thing...

Unlike Jen B, I am not a science teacher so I don't have all my life programmed by the NEA (Never Educate Another) subsidiary of the Democratic Party so I am at liberty to say that while man may be CONTRIBUTING to global warming, there is nothing man can do to stop it or reverse it because MAN IS NOT THE CAUSE of global warming.

Any geologist, biologist, meteorologist with an ounce of honesty will tell you that global warming is a natural event and man is NOT the cause.

It is a political issue not a scientific issue unless you are looking for government funding for the latest psuedo-science trend.

I don't know where you are getting your information. As an Earth science teacher who has done TONS of research on the topic of global warming, I can honestly say you need to read up on this subject a lot more. That statistic about "half the leading scientists"... are you kidding? That is simply not true.

I agree with you. I personally would love it if all of our polititians were required to have a background in science before being allowed to run for public office. But this will never happen. I once heard that in California they have a thing called "Science Court". Each member of the jury of this court is required to have at least a batchelor's degree in a scientific or mathematical field. It is voluntary, and both litigants have to agree to use this option. I think it is a great idea.

Not biased are we? "figment of the Liberal mind "

"Many of the worlds leading scientist have asked to have their names removed from studies" Got any sources?

"Would it not be great if our leaders were made to obtain a verifiable background ..." --- When Saddam drops his nuclear bomb on us, global warming will be the least of our problems.
