Do a sense of humour and intelligence correlate in any way?

No doubt about it. You need to have a level of intelligence to understand good humour. Most humour is derived from something else. Also, I think intelligent people are able to laugh at themselves and anyone who can laugh at themselves is a funny person with a good grasp of who they are and the life they lead.

If you know more about the world we live in, you have more material for jokes and can make quicker connections, which is basically what humour is. So I'd say maybe a little.

But then again, it would probably be cancelled out by all the super smart people- genius is close to insanity and they are often lacking in social skills, of which humour is one.

So I'm gonna say no. Fascinating question though, you should do a study on it!

A joke is 80% truth and 20% twisting for the punch line.

It is my belief that a person with humor is intelligent. I have not any concrete evidence to support that people with humor are intelligent. However it's been my observation that the class clown acheived more than the book worm. My observations are based soley on my enviroment though.

One things 4 sure ... humor keeps you young at heart and happy which is better than all the knowledge on the Internet!!!

Well the existence of one is not a sign that the other exists. But, if someone has both then then their humor will most likely be more thought out, intelligent humor. Such as irony vs. pie in the face.

to me its a matter of perception what you over the years have told yourself is funny and what is not. think about it sometimes you hear a joke and it isnt funny for a while you think about it for awhile then you start to find it amusing and later you figure that it was pretty dang funny right there you thought about it enough till you found it funny .
