If you don't put yourself in a position to be asked you won't have to worry about it.
Actually a real gang might back off or they will beat you down.

depends on the reasons for the request and how you go about declining it, if u know the reason you'll know how to decline and nothing will happenin, but if youve allowed yourself to drift into the deepend where u know too much, u gotta prove 100% that u aint gonna be the cause of any little problem down the track. Even then, if things happen, you can end up being used as a pawn for others that are ***** up, if u aint sharp. If youve made it clear u wanted in an now your in u dont want it, there's no turning back 'G', u there 2 the core 4 your colours 4 life or u gettin fuked up dog. If i was u id unzip that bag..take out the sponges..an put those big steel ballz in..go str8 2 the pres or leader..an tell it how its gonna be..u gettin the dogs sikd on ur ****..or respect. You will develop enough character and courage that other peoples opinions of you won't matter at all. To you or in REALITY. Although the other possibilities may sound a bit scary, if you decline the invitation respectfully, your whole life will get better in ways you can't even begin to imagine.
No great person ever came from a gang!!

I'd move if I were you.
Gang initiation will usually require you to perform some action -- often illegal and if you are a female likely a gang rape. Female members will likely "jump you In". Just to show your loyalty. Some extreme gangs will even require you to hurt others up to killing someone. They have to have leverage over you.
That's to be a part of the gang. Let alone what's gonna happen if you refuse.

As consistent with facebook's coverage once you decline a request, facebook do no longer notify the consumer that the guy denied your request. A button of upload as buddy would be back accessible there after declining.

I don't know if the gangs in your area are as sinister as guru assumes, but his conclusion is spot on.
If you are living in an area where gangs can't be avoided, time to move. I hope you can.
EDIT:
I missed the answer by Kris, she's got it nailed.

Tell the leader that you're honored to be a part of their gang and accept the invitation.
Then pack your stuff and move very, very far away.

They'll probably try to make life difficult for you. But you should stay strong. If you joined up with them, it could get ugly. Once you're in, you ain't never coming out.
