Gay marriages should be banned because ALL marriages should be banned from the legal system.

I am mystified why people should get what amounts to a 'get out of jail free' card because they announce a desire to be sex partners, regardless of what kind of sex it is.

heres your biblical and jewish answer:

"A man shall not lie with another man as he would with a woman; the two of them have done an abomination; they shall be put to death; their bloodguilt is upon them."

"You shall not come close to another person for the purpose of committing a sexual crime"

According to Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, it believes that heterosexual intercourse is a holy act, because it has the potential to lead to new life, and because heterosexual sex mimics the mechanism through which God created the universe. When a male and a female perform this act, they evoke creative spiritual energies, similar to ones that were used to create the Universe. This creation mechanism involved two opposite partners (male and female aspects of Divinity known as Zeir Anpin and Nukvah), a source of life-force and a recipient of it. The sexual act which envokes the male creative energy on the male side must, therefore, also involve evokation of female creative energies, even if the specific act will not lead to birth in the physical reality. If it is done properly, it results in one of the holiest activities in a Jew's life (incidentally, that is the reason why Jewish males mark their union with the Creator as circumcision).

Your question comes across as biased rather than an impartial narrator of a debate..but I'll bite just in case it was well-meaning.....
Gay marriage should not be banned. Love is love, and its something there isn't enough of in the world. With all of the things to fight, poverty, forced genital mutilation, genocide, rape, theft, racism, sexism, etc...why get worked up over two people who love eachother and want to commit. Hell, I'd think people who didn't like GLBT's (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender) would WANT them to commit to one person rather than be promiscuous...therefore, why not fight promiscuity? Hell, why not fight gas prices, that affects us all much more...To each his own!

They should be allowed by law, recognized by the government. They don't have to be allowed by religions. It should be a clear seperation of church and state.
