You can buy this stuff called Goo Gone at any Walmart or Target; it's a yellowish liquid and it comes in a small plastic bottle. It smells like oranges. You just put it on a cotton ball and rub it over the glue residue -- works like a charm.

Put some acetone on a cotton ball and rub it off. Hopefully that'll work. I did that to take the price tag glue off a pair of shoes and it worked just fine.

Have you tried Pledge- or a generic variety? Spray it on and wipe with a soft cloth.
