I know it sounds stupid, but I'm doing a project on her and I can't find anything that says whether or not they're actually married. Help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Yup, they're married.

"At the age of 27, Margaret Atwood married the writer James Polk, a marriage that lasted less than five years. Upon completing her studies at Harvard, Margaret Atwood and Polk returned to Canada where they became involved with a small literary press called the House of Anansi. It was within the intense atmosphere of the late 60’s Canadian literary scene that Atwood completed her first novel, The Edible Woman (1969), about a woman who finds she cannot eat – a reaction to the strange feeling that she, herself, is being eaten. While her career was taking off, her marriage was eroding. It was also at this time that Atwood met her current husband, another writer named Graeme Gibson."

In 1968, Atwood married Jim Polk, whom she divorced in 1973. She married fellow novelist Graeme Gibson soon after and moved to Alliston, Ontario, north of Toronto. In 1976 their daughter, Eleanor Jess Atwood Gibson, was born. (Graeme Gibson had two sons, Matt and Grae, from a previous marriage.) She returned to Toronto in 1980.
