It makes perfectly good sense but there is more "space" to take up than we can ever use you you shouldn't worry your pretty little head about it.
Shining a little light on shadows makes them go away because all shadows are nothing more than the absence of light.
But I like your thinking, especially if it finds it's way into poetry.
Does that make any sense at all, to you ???

Yes, one time I let my mind wander and it never came back.
Seriously though, you've got some major issues. This mind wandering thing happens to me all the time, like nonstop, kinda like a one-way ticket to the moon, no stops until you're there. Why would anyone want a one-way ticket to the moon? For that matter, who would put brail numbers on a drive-thru ATM?
See what I mean. If you're anything like me, you're in trouble. All my friends (not exactly the epitome of normality themselves) think I'm crazy.

Dear Natalie, You are correct about all the shadows. I spent most of the day out in the woods looking for old bottles and relics...I found two bottles and an iron stove. So....If you want to live with me, out in the woods, with two bottles, and an iron stove, it would be great! Theye are no shadows out there!!!

"I started thinking" is not a sign of wandering, but of directed thinking. I'd say you choose your thoughts and the subject matter. Wandering generally denotes a lack of purpose or direction, however, you also stated that you were looking for something to write about.
Like any thinking being -- you went from one moment of thought into the depths all things horrible.

When your mind leaves the programming, the illusions, what is left? Clarity.
You begin to confess to yourself what you really see.
Be a playwright like me. Explore dimensions. Discover through the voices.
Start with a premise of reality. And the voices of surrealism
lead you to truths. (Write it, revise it and show it)
And wind up with the depth of each grain of sand.
