i really want to go to cuba in my lifetime, and preferably soon, how could i go about this cosidering the terms cuba is on with the us

If you do it from another country, you will be taking a risk of ending up with a huge fine and maybe even jail time.
I would just wait, Castro can't live forever and things will change soon after he dies. In addition, the fact is Cuba isn't really a great place to visit anymore. It's pretty run down these last couple of decades and the poverty is huge.

You can go to Cuba through Jamaica. Air Jamaica as a non-stop flight from Montego Bay to Havana. But why would u want to go to Cuba especially for an American having an American passport.
