Go to the crucial or kingston (two reliable memory suppliers) and look for a memory finder. Enter the brand/model of your PC and it will tell you how many memory slots you have in the PC and the type of memory required. They usually offer memory modules for sale. If you build your won system, enter the maker and model of the motherboard.

There are other memory manufacturers/resellers. I just happen to have good experiences with Kingston, Crucial. PNY is good too, but they resell something made by others.

Pay attention to whether you have to install memory in pairs. This is required for some chipsets.

in maximum circumstances, this is going to likely be a single 256, even with the undeniable fact that it may additionally be 2 128 modules. you should truly open your comp formerly paying for new memory. you besides could could desire to renowned what style of ram to get, im assuming its universal ddr memory as you suggested you have an agp slot. this might advise which you rather desire pc3200, or 400mhz. its completely advantageous to function on the 512 to the previous memory if theres a loose slot, only verify theyre an identical speed. if theyre no longer then only placed the 512 in on my own. and with changing ram, you shouldnt could desire to do something with an agp card, only be sure to deal with the ram by way of the corners, as they're fairly comfortable to static electricity. additionally formerly you place in the ram, unplug your laptop and press the potential button, this discharges any leftover electricity.

PC2100 or PC2700 should both work in your setup, depend on slots (most have only 2 slots) you may need to remove the 128 and replace with 2x256MB

I would get one stick 254, that would set you at around 380.
Or you could put a gig in and see if it takes it plus your 128.
Depending on the age of yours, being it takes DDR, it might just take a gig.

If you indeed only have one memory slot, then you would have to purchase a 512MB DDR Memory module and replace your 128MB one. I am surprised that you don't have more than one memory slot?
