WHY do you need to clean a water turtle? If the tank is clean, and the water clean, the turtle should be clean.

If it has some algae growth, or a layer of scum on it, your main issue is to correct the water conditions.

When it is time to clean your turtle, just get a warm bath, or warm running water, wet the turtle, sprinkle some salt on it, then gently rub it off with a soft brush (toothbrush) or washcloth

Well you can run them under some cool water and use your hands or preferably a wet wash cloth to rub on their shell and their legs. (no chemicals) or they make sulfa dips (not for land turtles) "for treatment control and prevention of external bacterial diseases, and to aid in the prevention of secondary fungal infections of turtles" You can buy it at any pet store that is stocked with reptile care supplies. ZooMed makes it and its called Repti Turtle Sulfa Dip. Its what I use.
