I have a black molly and a silver one...i recently introduced all of my fish to their new home...a 29 gallon tank from a 10 gallon one. I noticed yesterday that they have standoffs or something. They will get next to each other and their dorsal fins will be up as far as they go and they like spaz in circles around each other. They never touch each other or attack the other one they just do that for a couple seconds then go their separate ways. Any ideas on what they are doing?

I also have a creamcicle molly and neither of them bother that one.

Since they are in a new environment they are probably restablishing dominance and territory. They will settle down and get along. My guppies do this all the time between males but it never gets out of hand. They are just saying "Hey I'm bigger than you! I'm boss!"

Are the two that are showing this behavior both males? You can tell the sex easily by looking at the bottom fin near the tail. If it comes to a point like a finger, it a male, if it's fan shaped, it's a female. My guess is that these are both males establishing their territory and showing off for the creamcicle, who's a female.
