I have always kept many pets, from the smallest dwarf hamsters, to the biggest dogs and all sorts in between (fish, reptiles, cats, rabbits,) you name it and I've kept it! (except birds. I would feel a bit cruel keeping an animal that is the epitome of freedom confined in a cage.)
I just love the fact that all my pets are so innocent and sweet. They ask for nothing more than a comfortable home and good food. Who am I to deny them that?
I can never walk in a pet store and leave empty handed. I feel that if I don't give them a good home, then they may potentially end up neglected or used as food for other animals.
I know I can't "save" every pet out there, but I like to help as much as I can. And boy is it worth it! My pets provide me with hours of entertainment just by being themselves. Some of them love a cuddle and a walk (great for exercise!) While others are happy to just go about their funny little business whilst I watch in delight.
i just couldn't imagine living without pets, full stop! They make my life complete. I love the sense of satisfaction that I get from giving them as great a life as I possibly can, and they love me for that. Or at least I think they do! lol. If only animals could tell us how they feel!
Of course it is always so sad when they pass on, but I get some comfort from knowing that they had a happy and fulfilled life, and that I did everything I possibly could to make them happy.

The company, I take my dog almost everywhere. I had a practice Duke of Edinburgh expedition a few weeks ago and I missed her so much, I think it was the longest I've been away from her in over 8 years apart from a school residential coz when we go on holiday in the summer we go camping so we take her with us, she sleeps on my bed every night, she always knows when i'm upset or not well, she's always there when i need a cuddle....

I recently lost my dog Dexter who was part of our family for 5 years.I did not realize how much I would miss him, not only the nice parts but also the parts that made me get grumpy with him at the time (muddy paws after I hoovered, whimpering when it was time for a walk, jumping on my bed when i was out)
The unconditional love they have for you is overwhelming-he was always there to greet me at the door, never grumpy or moody, always pleased to see me,always there to cuddle when I needed it and when i was sad he knew to come over and put his paw on my lap.
But the worst thing is the silence in the house since he has gone-we ll miss him dreadfully even the two cats that he tormented have been off their food since he has gone.
Treasure you pets, they are your family even though you may not realize it yet.

I have a mini lop rabbit called vinny and hes sooo friendly - when i go out to see him in the morning and at any time really he'll run to me and stand up onhis back legs for a stroke and when i get in the run to play with him he get excited and does binkys !! i could watch him for ages playing with his football , i love the fact that when you are with your pet all your problems seem to wash away as they give you so much love and dont judge you - they dont hurt you like humans do.

The laughs! We have a blue and gold macaw and we wouldnt part with her ever only because she talks and talks. the things she says are hilarious and sometimes quite rude but still funny. She obviously has picked it up somewhere but its fun. We also have taught her several tricks like shaking hands, saying thankyou when fed and shouting shut that door when she gets cold!

I used to hav a dog (Limpo), but for some reason he is no longer a part of our family now. That day i decided that i will not keep any pets becoz its really easy to carry them home with you & love them but it really hurts when they leaves you.
This is the universal fact that the one who come hav to go oneday. we all are already bond with so many relationships, which keeps hurting us every other day. So, Its better not to make anymore relations.

But my request to all of you is If u hav pets at home Love them becoz they love you Unconditionally.

The companionship, the warm bed at night (my pit is a huge bed hog!) and having something to keep me active rather than sitting around and doing nothing.
