For the upcoming year, Brady Quinn. First, he will start sooner than Russell. Second, he is more NFL-ready. He has been playing in an NFL-style offense for the last two years. Third, he has better offensive weapons - Edwards and Winslow will be good targets, and Jamal Lewis will be able to take more pressure off Brady Quinn.

Without a doubt, Brady Quinn. He has 4 years of starting experience, Jamarcus has a breakout game in the Sugar Bowl, and everyone loves him, next McNabb. Brady's head coach was Charlie Weiss, former Patriots offensive coordinator. That alone speaks for itself. This man let the Patriots to a superbowl win, and developed raw talent like Tom Brady. The only problem I ever see with Quinn is his occasional accuracy issues. Jamarcus has them much worse, while also taking too much time in the pocket. Quinn is much more NFL-ready. More starting time, an NFL superbowl-winning coach, and the smarts to do it. A proven leader.

both will be equally as big of faliure. Russell is going to be called upon with being the #1 pick to revive the Raiders, and he wont, he needs more around him. Brady Quinn is in a situation were he is at his hometown team, he has the pressure of being the "golden boy from Notre Dame" and playing for a team that has NO running game or defense. John Elway didn't win his championships without a running game, and the Broncos teams that he had before Terrell Davis were 20 times better than the current Cleveland Browns team.
And drafting either one of them in a fantasy league is committing fantasy league suicide. Rex Grossman or Tony Romo will be better picks and those 2 are fantasy subs at best.

I wouldn't take a rookie QB in most fantasy leagues, QB's start as a rule start for bad teams. Successful QB's need time to learn the differences between the NFL and the NCAA game.
That said if I had to take one of the two I would take Quinn, he was been under the tutelage of Charlie Weiss for the last two year and Weiss has a program at Notre Dame closes to the NFL than most other. Combined with the Browns have a better O-line than the Raiders Quinn will have the better change to succeed

I'm gonna say Quinn. Russell is a big question mark behind that shaky Raiders O-line. It's also not clear how the WRs will look without Randy Moss there.
The Browns have at least made incremental progress at improving their O-line & have decent receiving targets in Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow, Joe Jurevicus and Tim Carter.
I wouldn't start either of them next season, but if you're in a keeper league, let someone else take the risk on Russell.

If you're talking about this upcoming season, I say it's impossible to answer. Russell will start, but is going to have a horrible season. I live in the bay area and can tell you that the Raiders offensive line is HORRIBLE. One of the worst ever. He is going to get beat up and sacked a lot. He's going to throw a ton of picks, but will also throw some TD's.
You can't compare him to Brady right now because we don't know if Quinn will start. He's got a ton of weapons around him with Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow. He could have solid but not spectacular numbers. If he starts, I say he has the better numbers this season.

For this year? I would take a pass on both man because rookie qbs do pretty badly in the nfl. But if i had to chose one it would be Quinn because he has a better shot of playing and more experience in a pro system so he will not struggle as much. If you are in a keeper league gotta go russell because he has the ability to make plays that arent there and turn them into tds.

Russell will have to be looked at as a starter right now, though I can't see the Browns going with either of the two stiffs they had last season instead of Quinn. If both are starting game one, I like Quinn's chances a little more to have better stats....JaRuss could be destined to have a David Carr kind of year, since Oakland's offense is devoid of play makers that can take the heat off of him.

Quinn will have an offensive line. Russel "busts" because he is on Oakland. (Strangely when in 4 years he gets traded or released like David Carr he'll become good again. Funny how an offensive line can make a QB good.)
