Don't use tooth paste. It has a mild abrasive in it and may scratch the glass. I like Rainex for cleaning and waterproofing glass surfaces.

Ammonia and Newspaper if it's normal road dirt. If it's tar like or very filmy like too much pollution is in the air where you drive you will need Goo Gone, then to clean with regular cleaner. Once this is done thought you need to put Rain X on the glass to sheet the water for next time.

Try Rain-X as a solution or any glass cleaning solution in a market, choose the middle priced or branded products if you like.

Wash the glass with shampoo, rinse, and dry.

put a small amount of rain-x to a clean damp cotton cloth.

Rub it gently to the glass in a circular motion, apply little force if needed until watermark's gone.

finish it by gentle rub of clean cloth.

you can remove watermarks by not going to auto shop to service it,
all you need is a little patience.

vinegar by itself. DO NOT use it with baking soda. 1. vinegar is acidic baking soda is base-they're opposites! plus baking soda is an abrasive it will scratch your mirror.
this probably happened when you washed your car and did not dry it well. if the spots are from hard water then vinegar will remove the spots then clean with glass cleaner. if it's not hard water spots then they should have cleaned with glass cleaner.
