I'm not sure if you can, other than being closer to the router if you have a wireless. If you have better signal, you may have better speed, but I'm not too sure on that one.

Also, Google makes a web accelerator, which may help to speed up your broadband connections.

adjust your aerial to try and boost the signal, move it around as if it was a TV aerial. For streaming media/gaming its best to get 4 bars green in the Windows XP wireless setup.

A Speedbooster is a good option, Linksys make these.

Move the router nearer

Check your using G or the newer N speeds
