Hi, I'm doing this survey for one of my classes, so if you could put your age or put adult/teenager, gender, and answer down, that would be great! (It's a comparison between adults and teenagers) Here's the question:

If you could eliminate one of the following from the world what would it be?
1. War
2. Terminal Illnesses
3. Natural Disasters
4. Poverty

Thanks!

Adult male age 70- War.. eliminate war and the world can afford to work together to solve #2 and #4. Who knows, maybe even #3.

War...
If we didn't spend so much money killing people we would have more money to help poverty and terminal illnesses. Plus war can create poverty by destroying entire countries. I say put all the soldiers in 3rd world countries and have them build homes, make water systems, and help start food production. This is a problem we could solve without violence.

Hmmm...I'm gonna go with "Terminal Illness".

1.War- war, though awful, is nice. Because it gives all the violent people something to do.

3.Natural Disasters- Without Natural Disasters we wouldn't have things like Hawaii. That would not be cool.

4.-Poverty- If it wasn't for the homeless, I would be the broke one. Screw that.

Terminal Illness, War.. Its a toss up.
Both have been around since the dawn of time...
But the thing that effects more people around the whole world I would chose POVERTY to eliminate...

Adult male.

Tough.

First thought is Terminal Illnesses but then the effect on the world would be horrendous.

Natural disasters are bad but relatively infrequent.

War - horrible but again - not that common or widespread.

I guess poverty would be the best answer but then I wonder about the effect on the world.

I´m female and 60 years of age.Of course I would like to eliminate all of of those disasters, but as I just have one to chose from I would eliminate war, because wars cause illnesses and poverty. Natural disasters are something we cannot do anything about.Of course we should think more of how we handle pollution etc.Good luck with your survey.

I wouldn't elliminate any of them. Think of it this way: What would be the cost of eliminating war? War liberated many countries and peoples from the bonds of slavery through history.

In terms of poverty by what means do you define what "poor" is and how do you eliminate it?

The real issue is how, and what would be the consquence of doing so. The factors that create these conditions are too complex to define as any single thing. The real question that should be asked is: "By what means do you remove them and what would be the consequences of doing so?"

And no elimitating poverty would not elimiate war by any means. Some of the most resource rich nations (Africa) live in poverty for culteral reasons. Nothing is that simple
