We just had to replace our gas furnace/heater (in attic) and it was just under $4,000 for everything. That is for a 5 ton model. Just be aware, as we learned, whoever puts in the new unit may have fun getting it out of the attic and the new one in. Our new one was 1 inch around larger than the 18 year old one we removed and they don't make ones that small.

Call a heater company who will come out and give free estimate!

As you can see the costs will vary. The old rule of thumb is to get as many estimates as you can. Compare what it is they want to offer you. Don;t forget to check the net to see what type of unit you will need that will be most efficient for you.
It's not very cost effective to go with a less expensive model to save you money up front...if it's going to have to work twice as hard to do the job.

ok if you have a home and it is 2000 sq. ft. it well take a 5 ton unit and with the new freon units it would run about 8,000$ but that is in tx. and not there. if you have a asbestos in your home and you are wanting to get rid of it this is what is going to cost. if you can have the system installed I would leave that stuff be.
