I doubt that it is harmful to use a carseat cover as long as the original straps for the seat are used and it is used correctly. In fact car seat covers are probably a pretty good idea since anyone out there who is a mom knows just how gross a car seat can actually get when a toddler sits in it. And they can be so hard to clean, why not have a cover that can come off and be thrown in the wash. I actually saw a person on ebay that makes car seat covers, all you have to do is tell them what type of seat you want covers made for so they can check and see if they have the pattern and then choose your own material.

There should be a 1-800 number on your car seat. Call and ask. I suspect it's all fine and dandy. :)
