One strong person can hang the rod which comes either with everything in a package or you buy the rod, rings and fennels separately. There are three brackets you attack to the wall and they have to be secure because when you add the weight of the drapes/curtains, you don't want it pulling off the wall. Get those little rubber things that fit in a hole, and then screw the screw into them for support on dry wall (the store will know what they are called). You have to make sure you measure where to put the two ends and the middle bracket, level. So best to have two people.

Hanging the drapes/curtains after that is easy. There are two types of rings, one with little clothes pin style and one where u use some metal pins.

Best suggestion is go looking before you buy, asking lots of questions. And read up by googling "hanging curtain rods."

depends on the type of curtain rod you get.. there are several types of ways to hang curtains in a room... I will list some for you

1. tension rod
2. adjustable rod
3. double adjustable rods
4. wooden rods

there is also the type that you can use a rope to open and close the curtains I forget what they are refered to as...

pro's and con's

1. tension rod...

pro's: very easy to install no tools needed it works like a shower curtain rod inside a window frame

con's: the can easily fall down and dont work as well for every style of curtain..

2. adjustable rod

pro's: can be purchased for most windows and hold heavy drapes and curtains very easily

con's: not good for corners where 2 windows meet

3. double ajustable rod

same as adjustable rod but has 2 bars for hanging curtains and sheers togther...

4. wooden rods.

pro's: can be used for very elobrate curtains and have a tradition look

con's the only rods that need to be cut to fit so are much more difficult to install

and the last one mentioned that I cant remember usually has to be special ordered and can be alot more expensive...

as far as tools at the minimum you will need a screw driver either flat head or phillips head depending on the specific curtain and then depending on where you plan to attach them you might need to pre-drill holes for your screws...

all things considered hanging curtain rods is fairly simple its just a matter of screwing the brackets into the wall or window frame depending on what look your going for... if you have specific questions as far as a particular curtain rod I would be happy to answer for you..

No, I Have done it lots. If you watch HGTV there are lots of ideas for curtain hardware, things you can buy and use cheaper than buying a real curtain rod. Fun ways to hook things onto the wall and then hook the curtain to them that are not even curtain rods!! neat ideas..

Take some time and watch that and get the ideas and copy it. You can save lots of money doing it. Decorating is my passion. Its what I do best and everyone knows it.

Enjoy!!!

I've only needed an electric screwdriver. If you buy a set of rods, all the screws are included. It would be nice to have a friend so you can keep everything level while installing it. But you can do it yourself with a little extra work and a tape measure and pencil.

No, it is not difficult to hang curtains. No, the items usually do not come in one package. You only need you to hammer in the nails, then place the hanger over the nails. Once you see that is straight put the curtains over the hanger and hang.

Assuming that your plastic curtain hooks have an prolonged, crescent style, curve with a tighter curve on the tip - insert the pointed end of the long curve into the fit in the thick band on the curtain from the backside of the band with the outdoors of the curve dealing with into the curtain, and slide it up and around so as that the tight hook catches on the backside of the band. you may desire to then locate that the crescent curves faraway from the curtain with the element dealing with the curtain on the backside of the band.as quickly as you have finished this, carry the curtain in front of you with the hooks on the far (window) edge of the curtain and insert the pointed end into the front of the ring on the rail . it particularly is probable much less perplexing to insert each and all the hooks into the curtain first, in any different case your arms gets very drained.

you really should have a trial first before the hanging.
