without refrigeration? will it make me seriously ill? I don't mind the taste, it still give me that same great feeling after drinking it.

Are there any bad side effects from drinking red wine (Cabernet Sav.) after it's been opened for a month without refrigeration? No ugly comments please, just answers please. Thanks

I don't refrigerate it because I don't like anything cold.

Why would you do this ? As mentioned, it pretty much turns to red-wine vinegar. Red wine comes with preservative, and contains alcohol (should be about 13 %) which also helps keeping bacteria from forming BUT alcohol evaporates over time, and the preservative effect does not last for ever, so you do run the risk of becoming ill. I would only keep it for a week, at most. Maybe 2 in the fridge, you can always take it out and let it warm up when you want to drink it. Yuck !

Why could you do this ? As reported, it fairly lots turns to pink-wine vinegar. pink wine comes with preservative, and incorporates alcohol (could be approximately 13 %) which additionally facilitates keeping micro organism from forming yet alcohol evaporates over the years, and the preservative result would not final for ever, so which you do run the prospect of turning into ill. i could purely save it for a week, at maximum. in keeping with risk 2 in the refrigerator, you are able to consistently take it out and permit it heat up once you prefer to drink it. Yuck !

well, an easy solution to your problem would be to keep the wine in the refrigerator, and every time you want to drink some, fill a glass, and let the glass stand in room temperature. As for side effects, sorry, can't help you there.

Question : how long do you leave meat/dairy in your refrigerator, before you decide to eat/prepare it?

rule of thumb : if you have to ask someone else to smell/taste it first, you shouldn't eat it or drink it.

Good luck with the wine/expiration thing ~

I would think it would be okay so long as there isn't anything growing on it - or in it. But, don't count on my answer because I don't drink wine - except at a restaurant.

You need to buy one of those pumps that gets the air out. They are only a few dollars at Bed Bath Beyond, etc.
Dont drink it, the tannins will make you sick, yes

I doubt it would make you ill... probably just tastes really vinegary and might make you puke or have a sore tummy... but if you enjoyed the taste... no problem... i just would not make a habit of it.
