Crazy...never heard of it b4. Now I have a question... Polygamy sounds bad to me because more that one woman and mother in law to deal with...Too much! But I can see guys thinking it's ok to have more than one woman....What I wonder is it the same the other way around? It looks like the guys help out and everyone makes it work.

i read about the northern area of india, where very few women are born and poor famalies are not able to arrange marriages as families have limited cash needed to procure a wife.

the solution is that when a man gets married, she marries all his brothers too.

my reaction is that she must never be in need. she has a constant supply. i have seen some comments on this site where women complain they are not being serviced with sufficient frequency, there is a solution over there.

for those women who said they would never marry all the brothers, you would really have no choice and you would have to give it up on demand.

remember it is an accepted practice in that area and culture.

my question now and then was who becomes the father; the answer, i guess the older and then all together.

on the island of tristan de cunha in the south atlantic, if a man is unable to find a bride, it is accepted practice that he will be able to get relief from the married women as needed. the residents are from britain. can you imagine the chance to sample every woman on the island. there are very few men who have not had some variation of a day dream about sampling.

and in brazil there is a tribe where the women can have up to three husbands. the second and third husband are usually young boys.

talk about an older woman training a young man! many young men dream of this kind of arrangement.

it is reported marco polo, learned about the practice of orgies in india and took his findings back to europe.

in india, it is still common to share bodied but not love, its called swapping in america.

thanks for sharing this clip.

Linda, I must be too independent. The only thing I could think of... If I was married to 3 brothers, I shouldn't go without food, live in a box or dress so unappealing. 3 men in your life and you are still struggling. Somebody would be missing a wife when it was time to wake up. I guess whatever works for them. Thanks for the education.

As the mother of four boys I am glad we live somewhere where they won't share the same wife, goodness gracious, but if it works for them so be it.

Well, they had their reasons behind it. Like they said, to curb a population explosion.

Personally, I couldn't do it.
