Can someone interpret what this means in 3-4 sentences

Memory is not photographic, it is reconstructive

memory is not filed and recalled as a single unit.. it is broken down and stored, then rebuilt when recalled.

It seems to be saying that memory is not necessarily preserved intact, as a singular image - as your other answer alkready mentioned - but as a combination of smaller images.
For instance, a memory of riding a bicycle over a bridge could be broken down into lesser memories of the bicycle, itself, the bridge, the scent of the air that day, the flowering trees at one end of the bridge, a song that was running through your mind as you were riding along, the clothes you were wearing, the cars that passed you, etc.
Later you could recall any number and/or combination of these components, and forget others.
