You are assuming that these are absolutes. In my humble opinion, they aren't. Evil from our perspective is good in another. Why would a man kill himself for evil? He believes he is doing good. We think he is evil. It's all perspective. People view us as evil for meddling in other countries' affairs with a heavy hand, even though we believe that we have the best of intentions.

Police are in schools to protect the kids from shooters and drug pushers. Yep. It's happened here in my state of Texas.

Well whoopty doo... an American got nice treatment in Beijing, China... well, let me revamp my attitude towards them. Hey, let's ask some of the Chinese kids who marched, peacefully, for democracy in 1989... you know, those nice kids in Tienanmen Square... oops, we can't ask them, because the Chinese govt. rolled over them with tanks.

The author of this article is entitled to his opinion... but that's all it is - an opinion. He's an armchair politician, just like the rest of us. He looks like an American, too... so he will never get to experience reality in another country... Governments that are trying to maintain a veneer of normalcy with the U.S., walk on eggshells in their treatment of American citizens.
