02/22/04 I had an ounce of meth and a gun in my mouth. I had used meth all day every day for 5 1/2 years. My hubby brought a crank ho home with him. I flushed the dope, asked God to help me. Called the shelter, took my kid and got the hell out of that marriage, that lifestyle, and started all over again at 49. I thought my life was over. It had just begun.
Thank you, Jesus.

Well, I lost 2 very good jobs to outsourcing. One to India and one to Costa Rica. These jobs paid very well. I almost lost my house and many other things. Very stressfull. I gained 40 lbs and lost a girlfriend.
This whole situation has changed my whole outlook on life. I no longer live to work. I now work to live. I have seen 9 different countries since this has all gone down and am currently planning on opening a bar in the next couple of years. My new goal is to become my own boss.
I am pretty sure I won't outsource myself.

I was diagnosed with diabetes.
I'm a nurse, age 57.
No way was I going to accept this without a fight.
I put myself on a diet and exercise regimen.
Lost 150 pounds in 15 months.
No more diabetes 8 months into the new lifestyle.
I'm now slim, healthier and happier than I've ever been in my life.

Good for you! I was fired in October of 2003. I was t-boned and flipped my Jeep in January (3 months later). the next day I had a hearing with my former boss about unemployment and they were trying to sue me.(Which I won both). I started another job in May of 2004, am still here, paid well and I love it. Always remember that everything happens for a reason, whether it's good or bad.

glad to hear you've re-coup'd.
My defining moment was o'ding for the last time in my bathroom around say 4am, i think i had one of those
out of body experiences and i saw my self passed out in a bathtub full of water and then i woke up in the bathtub.
needless to say it scared me straight. apparently,
mixing coke and heroin Ala the Jim Belushi diet is a formidable
way to die. I have no idea why I'm alive however, I am using this blessing to do only well in life, i have a good job, god friends and my own place, I'm pretty lucky.

A few years ago, my family went through a crisis period, everything was falling apart, it was the "dark days" for all of us. Before that, I was just a rebellious, narrow minded kid. After experiencing all that, i gained a whole new perspective of life and of my parents, people who i once thought were weak, but it made me realize how much they struggled to make things work for my brother and i.
