I like names that can be used for either a boy or a girl. I think both of those names are rather more feminine than masculine anyway. It would be nice if you and your husband could compromise. Although my husband doesn't particularly favor the names I have selected either, but I am a little more untraditional.

I think unisex names are nice, I 3 of my 4 boys names are unisex names, There Riley, Jaden, and Raygan. I don't really like Tristyn for a girl though, but I like the name Jordyn and I don't think it's to boyish at all.

Personally, it depends on what name it is...but Jordyn sounds most definitely like a boy, but I think Tristyn could go either way because I don't know any males named Tristyn...I wouldn't go for Jordyn...sorry...I'm more of a 'girl only name' person.

I love either gender names! Tristyn and Jordyn are great names for a boy or girl. Also Taylor's awesome for a girl or boy. Tell your husband you really think that its a good idea.
I hope I helped!! Good luck!

I have a son and I also liked names that could be for a boy or a girl. My son was born last August and is named Avery, which I have heard for both sexes. My husband was the same with boy names, (maybe it's a guy thing, who knows). I think unisex names are very cool. Especially when you can spell them according to the particular gender.

If you do go with a unisex first name, please give your daughter a feminine middle name to balance it out. I'm a woman and my first name is unisex (Jamie) and my middle name is pretty masculine. I've always wanted a more feminine option to call myself.
In respect to Tristyn and Jordyn though, I don't think of either of those as being unisex names. To me, both names are solidly feminine, especially with their spellings. A name doesn't make a person--her environment and experiences will. Good luck to you and congratulations on the baby!

My own daughter's name is Jordyn, and she's one of the most girly girls I've ever seen. She spends hours in front of the mirror doing her hair and makeup. Believe me, naming your daughter Jordyn WON'T make her boyish. I can tell you this though. Because of the unique spelling that I chose and you are choosing, my daughter's name was misspelled by teachers, friends, and everywhere inbetween all her life. She also cant find any of those cutsie things with the names on them to match hers. So, that is the drawback to using that name. Best of luck to you.

No, the middle of the name "y" is pretty indicative of a girl's name.
Personally, I don't care for the names all that much, but that's a personal choice stemming from the "people want to have unique names like everyone else" thing that I just don't understand. They aren't too boyish, though, they're cute and girly.

I like both names you picked out, maybe Tristyn a little more. I think using "y" to replace "a" makes the names even more feminine. I always thought Tristan/Tristyn sounded more like a girl's name anyway.

I like the unisex names.
Tristyn & Jordyn are both nice names for a girl in my opinion. I like Jordyn more so than Tristyn, but like them both
