Hey there.
I was just diagnosed with an antibiotic resistant strain of staph, and have done some research, so I hope I can help.
My infection is called MRSA, meaning Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. What this means is that it has developed a resistance to all forms of penicillin.
The staph is on my elbow, just outside the joint space, on the bursa. Apart from swelling, redness, heat, pain, and a discharge, the only symptom I had was numbness in my fingers. I also felt quite fatigued, but I wrote that off to my workout routine.
Hope this helps.

My mom have been given a staph an infection in the early 80's from a mosquito chew then swimming in the sea. The Dr placed her on an antibiotic that feed the staph, the staph at a small hollow in her leg (sight of an infection). After a sparkling antibiotic she have been given better. the top-rated an infection went away. Staph is by no ability somewhat long previous or cured, years later mom ended up with a grotesque epidermis rash over her face and palms. became out it replaced into an infection as a results of staph that keeps to be in the physique for existence.

Usually staph infections are contracted in a hospital setting.
I had a baby in the newborn intensive care unit that almost died from a staph infection he got from a nurse. His symptoms were that of a very very bad cold.
Staph is hard to kill.

Yes, I had the same thing as the guy above me..MRSA. It took forever to get rid of. The first spot was on my bottom. I thought it was a spider bite. It got very red, swollen and itched like crazy.it just got very big overnight. I went to the ER. I was hospitalized for 3 days with intravenous anti-biotics and had it lanced. It went away. One month later it showed up again on my lower back...this time I was aware of it...they got a grip on it early and no in-patient was needed. The whole thing was awful and made me feel dirty...although I am a very clean person. Turned out I caught it from my boyfriend.
