I have been on contraceptive Pill Cilest for about six months now. I have a boyfriend whom I've been with for two years and we have regular sex (three to four times a week). This month, I missed the first THREE pills of my packet and then my packet continued like this; taken two, missed two, taken two, missed one, taken one, missed one. I know my chances of pregnancy are high so when do you suggest I take a pregnancy test; should I finish my pack of Pills then test even if my fake period comes? Or should I finish my pack of Pills now and then wait for my period to come or should I take a test before my period arrives ? Thanks, Sara x

Thanks guys. I have one more question; my fake period started this month on the 7th of May, then I missed my pills from the 8th-11th of May. Is it still possible for me to have conceived between then and now? I think I might stop taking the Pills but I'm still not sure ...

stop taking the pills!! if theres any chance youre preggo, you should not take them; this could cause serious harm to your baby. use a different method; condom, foam something else. wait 2 weeks; since by then your "fake" period would kick in from stopping the pill, and if you dont get it in 2 weeks, take a test. and then call your doc! even if its negative, but you still dont have your period, call the doc for a blood test. i got preggo the same way as that on the pill, so it is very possible.

If I were you I would test a.s.a.p. Now days they have test that will tell you even before you miss a period. Or you can go get some blood drawn from your doctors office, and they can tell you for sure. I would do this more because, being on birth control pills, is not a great idea if you are pregnant. I am almost certain that it could cause problems for the baby. (I am not a doctor, just a health aid..) I am sure you would feel better knowing anyways, so if you are not, you can get back on track with your pills, and no it is safe.. Hope that helps a bit.. :) Good luck to you!

I got prego with my first when taking the pill like that. I would stop taking your pills, since it is not recommended that you take them while pregnant. Wait until the first day you should have your period. If your period fails to show up on time take a home pregnancy test. If your period hasn't come with in the next two days test again. If after a week, you are still getting a negative result and your period hasn't started I would call your gyno for suggestions.

If you think your pregnant stop taking the pill.. your not supposed to take the pill while your pregnant and stop and see if you get a period.. if you don't.. take a home pregnancy test and if it comes back negative and you still think you are go to the doctor and get a blood test done before continuing on the pill because it's better safe then sorry.

They say if you think you may be pregnant to stop the use of the pill and consult your doctor. I say, wait and contact your doctor. If you think that you may pregnant just use condoms or foam or something. If ya'll want to have a baby just discontinue use and continue as you were. But only you can make the choice. Just consult with your boyfriend and let him know whats going on and see if he wants kids too, just in case. Then contact your doctor to be on the safe side. If no doctor contact the local health department. They can help you too. Also, think about when your period is schedule to come on, if it does not come on that date wait about a week or so and then test. Good luck. Hope I helped.

generally they say that a test can work as early as the first day of your missed period, although now they have a test out that can tell you about 5 days before your missed period (I guess 5 days before you would normally start) so you might wanna give that a try...if nothing else, then you might want to talk to your doctor and let them know what happened with the pills and let them know your concern.

You should take a pregnancy test anytime you think you might be pregnant. The rest of this is irrelevant to when to take the test. If you don't know if you are pregnant, however, keep taking the pills so you don't GET pregnant!

All that said, if you are getting your period, you are NOT pregnant. So you don't have to take the test if that is the case.
