Many European countries still have a ban on abortion. Europe is waking up and we are sick of socialism. IT DOESN'T WORK.
I am a proud European that thinks USA ROCKS!!!

European conservatives are closer to U.S. liberals than U.S. conservatives in idealogy. A ban on abortion alone does not make one a conservative. There are many Democrats here who are pro-life and plenty of Republicans here who are pro-choice. That's not a good barometer for determining liberal vs. conservative.
EDIT: Now your abortion argument has failed too. I thank the answerers who pointed out that most of Europe is pro-choice, I really had no idea. It's still not a good barometer, but glad to learn something new today!

Currently only four of the European nations have "right-wing" leaders. The rest--ove r2 dozen--are moderate to liberal.
And you confuse liberalism (which does dominate European politics) with socialism--which is not the same thingg. And no--there are not very many "right-wing" types around. Genuine conservatives, yes--but that is entirely different.

Most European countries are pro-choice and Sarkozy who is an economic conservative does believe in global warming. Europe is very liberal, I don't know what country you're from. Check the link below to see abortion laws in Europe.

Ok sorry but France SUCKS !
I am a proud European, but also an educated one, precisely in the field of energy policies and renewable energy...
I do not think at all that the US rocks... on the contrary, despite my green card I can´t wait to leave it.
Just come over here and check the violent crime rate, trailer trash, the wacko christians (I am christian myself but not their way), etc...
The reasons why people in Europe are sick of the socialists are as following:
- immigration
- poor state finance and economy
- no reward of labor
Not all Europe sucks, but France does !!!
Germany, the Netherlands, Britain and Scandinavia are great.

wow, I love how people try to generalize (ah heck i'll do it too) EVERYTHING... as if a "conservative" in Europe is the same as a "conservative" in the USA.. same for "liberals". Heck, the new pres. for France would be a true Independent here in the States.. and would be labeled a liberal because he believe the USA shouldn't be in Iraq.. yet he is considered a hardcore conservative there.
generalizations make you look unintelligent. please try to refrain from them.. they cause your entire question to lose it's meaning.
P.S. Europe is too liberal for many USA liberals.. we don't want to be just like them.. we just think they have a couple of good ideas that we could make work better here.

They're "rightwing" precisely because Europe is so liberal. It's a relative term. Most of the right-wingers over there would be moderates over here.

My European relatives like the rest of the average Europeans are tired of going to work and seeing others get the rewards of their hard work. The average working men and women might not be loudest of citizens but they do quietly seethe when they perceive that they are being taken advantage of and when they get fed up they just vote for the guy who is going to take care of him for a change.

because they are finally realizing liberal mindset is the single reason its killing their language, their sanity, morals, culture, borders, and themselves.
5 years from now Europe would be great again... after the new leaders clean up the mess left by the Left
