When someone is telling you a story or a joke or whatever, do you get a total visual of the whole thing? Do you know people who don't?

I get a very good visual I am naturally talented in that way. I also have a very good understanding of most things which is why I have a good visual however there are times when things just don't make any sense and I do not. This usually happens when people are telling me things in a stupid way, like my math teacher being a worse teacher than the book, but my history teacher being awesome.
