always pack layers. that way if it does warm up or cool off you are prepared. Nights are always chilling and in the low 50s. And is even cooler if the fog comes in. The coldest times I have ever been to SF is for 4th of july fireworks.

for the next week or so highs in the mid 60s and lows mid 50s.

It is the fog that will make you cold, not the wind. though near the water front it can be windy. The water comes right off the bay and/or pacific ocean. so it is not really a warm wind.

this time of year the temps range from 75 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night. It does get windy (cold) so bring a light jacket. A famous quote "the coldest winter I spent was a summer in san francisco"

It can be windy (sea breeze).. It can be cool in the AM when there is fog and at night.. If you are visiting in the summer, bring warm weather clothes as well as a sweatshirt/pants to keep you warm if the wind changes..

Be prepared for wind and cold...you know - sweater, light and, maybe even light-heavy jacket or windbreaker.
If you weren't of the female persuasion i'd suggest taking-along an athletic-supporter for witnessing sporting events.
Let us hope this isn't too discouraging a message...It can be sunny and warm...There was a report, unconfirmed, just the other day, of an errant sunbeam.
