I have to agree with you. The Shining is the scariest movie I have ever watched. But after you watch it a few times you begin to enjoy the violence and gore. I would recommend 'The Shining' to anyone. I love it.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
"Give me the bat, give me the bat Wendy"
"REDRUM...REDRUM...REDRUM"
Classic horror movie!!

I've seen 100's but the only one that had me on the edge of my seat was one called Cube .
I'm sure that's what it was called ?
People where trapped inside sort of a huge rubix cube ,
they took turns walking through doors trying to get out and were randomly slaughtered .
Though you expected it all , somehow the director always managed to shock you , just as you breathed a sigh of relief because your favourite character didn't pick the wrong door BANG! and he'd be lying in 5 perfectly cut slices on the floor !
I've searched and searched for this film but cannot find it , please let us know if anyone can .

I have no idea what it was called but some guy chopped his wife up, wrapped her in brown paper and stuffed her in the freezer down the cellar, a few nights later parts of her body started walking up the cellar steps to get its revenge on him, that was really scary.

The Grudge scared me a lot. Now I watched it again and it is less scary. Also the scene in the updated exorcist when she walks down stars upside down and backwards.

The Others, I know it didn't have any scary monsters in it or anything like that but it was really atmospheric and spooky. It made me jump and my nephew and I were clinging onto each other for dear life!!!
