Medication. I had breast cancer and the second I was done with radiation I went and stayed with my dad until he passed. I found myself reeling trying to get everything done, his clothes, his obituary, who gets what flowers. I pretty much lost it, then we all had pneumonia, so I had to go to the hospital and do a week of anti-biotics. So, I decided to go on meds for various stressors cuz you are kinda supposed to avoid stress when you have had cancer. I am diagnosed bipolar I a less serious form. I feel better than I ever have. That way the stressors don't affect me, I take them one at a time.

I go mountain biking.. it gets me out of town and gets me exercise.

there is another way I deal with stress.. but it's an adult topic and only (in my opinion) should be an option for those mature enough to handle it :) but it works.

Go to my horse, give him a nice big hug, saddle him and go for a long slow ride through the country. Talking to him all the way. He just listens and never tell.

I work out and then try to meditate a lot. Then, I write out my thoughts and feelings. Getting out my thought on paper helps me to feel calmer and less stressed out.
