I prefer the sticks, too, but if there are multiple drivers on the same car, the clutching techniques and wear patterns will be different from driver to driver, which might make some detrimental difference\, not much. Automatics give people more ability to use their hands for cell phone calls, eating, shaving, or other things they aren't supposed to do, so manual transmission cars are really safer.

A stick shift is so much more fun. I'm going to trade my automatic in next year for a stick. I miss it :)

It depends on where you drive...if you sit in bumper to bumper traffic more than 3 times a week buy an automatic...if you spend all your time on the highway doing 75 then get a stick....
If your chick gives you the heebadee jeebadee while you're on a road trip, then get an automatic..

It Depends on the car. If it's a sports car, go for the stick, revving the engine is sweet. If it's a beater, just get the automatic.

automatic( if you talk on the phone, drink or eat anything) when you are driving an automatic it is easy .yet try a stick one hand on the wheel and the other on the stick and a sandwich in you mouth .....
