Or do you wish it would go back to where it was up to the person 16 or older if they wanted to wear a seatbelt?

I think the mandatory seatbelt law is a great thing; and it's been proven to have saved scores of lives.

I click it...every time. ☺

i like it because having a seatbelt on can save your life, and anyone who chooses not to wear one is out of their mind! Plus, if you're in a car with someone who decides to leave their seatbelt off, and you get in a wreck, that person could end up hurting you because their not belted in. Of course, no matter what, the law is always going to be broken.

Only if the person can show that they carry about 10 million dollars of life insurance, and also liability insurance. Your actions have consequences, regardless of whether you deny it or not. If you end up a brain dead vegetable, there are still bills to pay to take care of your breathing corpse, and you'll probably do damage to someone else or something else in the process.

As for motorcycle helmets - when I rode, the rule was always, "Put a $10 helmet on a $10 head". I usually apply that rule to the people who don't want to wear one at all, too.

I think it's a good law only because my seatbelt saved my life when I flipped my Jeep. I used to never wear it and then just got in the habit. Now I feel naked if I don't have it buckled.

Yes I like the click it or ticket, It saves lives. Barbara Mandrel is one who her seat belt saved, she too was anti seat belts You will find as you grow older you need all the help you can get to stick around a while longer, Seat belts take a short amount of time to fasten and gives you a lot of safety in an accident

I don't think that you should be forced to wear one. ALL children should wear one, and adults should be able to use their own judgement.

I do, however, have a problem with Kentucky making a seatbelt law for all autos, and motorcyclists aren't required to wear a freaking helmet! Geez!

Indiana just got rid of that click-it or ticket slogan.. I don't know what they changed it too yet, but this past week they have been doing seat belt enforcement stops all over.

It's a good law, cops & emts get sick of picking brain matter & body tissue off roads when people go through the windshield.
