I have a really bad allergy to bees stings and I was wondering if there are any types of flowers that will repell them.

I don't know if there are any flowers that repel bees, but it may be possible to plant flowers that are less attractive to bees.

The eyes of bees are less sensitive to the red part of the light spectrum. They will visit red flowers, but red flowers are more difficult for them to see against a green background. I would say if the flowers you plant have red flowers, they will not attract bees as readily as other colors (blues, whites, etc). But if you have flowering plants in your yard, you will have some bees visit, so be careful of stings.

The flower color issue is the reason that biologists say that, in general, red flowers are pollinated by birds, and the other colors are mostly pollinated by insects. That is why hummingbird feeders are almost always colored red.

Good Luck!

no flowers deter bees. If you are allergic, it's best to avoid being around flowers, using unscented personal care items and unscented laundry items..

bees are attracted by scent and colors.. so go unscented.. and wear more drab colors when you might come into contact with bees..

Also.. if you're drinking outside, be sure you have diet soda or water.. bees (really yellow jackets) like sugary smells and soda is sugary.

remember that flowers tell bees where their food is to be found. they can't help but be drawn to them.. if you don't look like or smell like a flower, your chances of avoiding them are better.
