just go over the facts....
science says it takes thousands if not millions of years to create a fossil. I can create a fossil in one year.
they say it takes the same amount of time to create oil, coal, diamonds, etc due to pressure and time. again, with just pressure and a machine, I can make each of these items in a matter of hours or days.
everything they use to measure age of earth, dirt, fossiles, etc is carbon dating. but carbon dating never gives the same answer twice, EVER. so you can have 10 people test something, in same or different labs, and all 10 will come up with different answers. yet science bases all they know on this flawed age process. whats even more funny, carbon date a living snail, it will come up as 14,000 yrs old even though it slides in front of you.
don't believe all school or books taught you. there are MANY lies out there and just cause they are in a school or in a book, DOES NOT MAKE THEM TRUE.
Great example of this is the renent USA program of " no child left behind ". Well now they are realizing the program doesn't work and has made kids worse off. But do they care? No, why? Cause they got their 360 million check for coming up with the idea. They didn't care if it worked or not, they just wanted paid.
That very reason is why most "junk" is in our schools. Evolution is so full of holes yet they try to pass it off as fact. Yet you can easily look it up and it states "theory" not "fact".
Always question everything and everyone. Realize who profits from anything and you will find the truth.

I am laughing at the finite infinite comment. Nothing finite can be infinite and nothing rubber can be steel and comparing apples and oranges is a typical creationist argument. 1, 2, and 3 are finite numbers, but you can have a collection of numbers that is infinite, you may also have an infinite amount of groups of 3 or 6 or 11, so from where I sit, the argument is, and I'll be kind here, moot. There are religious scholars who claim that if you follow the descriptions in the bible regarding lifespans and amount of time passed, that they can place the age of the universe, not just earth, remember, according to the genesis story, it was all snapped into existence in 7 little old days, at around 6000 years. This indicates a belief so shaky that if this particular disagreement should go against the 6000 year idea, that it would devastate christianity. Wow, how strong must their convictions be?

The planet is much more than 6000 years old. Of course your source for this belief is the Bible. The Bible describes six days of creation. These "days" of creation are euphemisms to describe long periods of time in which God developed his plan of the universe. The ancient Hebrews had no method to expound periods of time longer than a that of a human life. They called them "days" as a general term. They really didn't have a concept of more than a myriad except to say "myriads of myriads". Myriad is the Greek word for ten thousand, The term "myriads of myriads" would produce 100,000,000. But the ability to think pass this does not appear to be supportable by any known text. Hence they called them "the "days" of creation."
Today we call the creative periods geologic periods. What is interesting is if we look at these periods as shown at this website
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geologic_time_scale
there appears to be when broken down out of the system shown distinct periods that seem to match the "creative days" as shown in the Bible.
And That My Friend Raises A Whole New Question - HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
There is a theory that we are not the first "great" period of mankind and that there was one other that was wiped out and we are now on a second rise to "great" status. This "great" period of man preceded all of the present knoweldge of mankinds existance and is thought to be an entirely seperate developement period of mankind. The interesting thing is that there are "super-ancient" stories handed down verbally from dozens of aboriginal tribes that describe this "pre current time line"
(Yep here he goes) the most well know is that of Atlantis.
And yet it matches rather smoothly the current know history of man.

Back in the early 17th century or thereabouts, some religious scholars (remember, this was before archeology and modern science had come into being) tracked the life of the universe through the Bible. They began with the the lists of biblical personalities (all the "begats") and calculated that the earth was formed sometime in October of 4004 B.C. or so. Many believe the literal words of the Bible. Others take many of the time frames (40 days and 40 nights, six days of creation, etc.) as symbolic, and the way of the ancients to explain the natural world. Modern science has estimated the age of the earth at several billion years, based on rates of erosion, salinity of the ocean, and a number of other factors. Incidentally, the Byzantine calendar puts the number at closer to 7,000 years old.

The question isn't how it could be, but how it couldn't be?
Neither science nor religion are 100% accurate with times or dates for our planet's actual age.
In fact, I wouldn't believe it's only 6,000 years old without solid proof.

The Earth is far older than 6,000 years old. While the exact age of our planet is unknown, the generally accepted age of Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. The human race itself is thought to be over one million years old.

No, that's preposterous. You wont find a single rock on this earth that is younger then at least 2,000,000 years old if radiocarbon-dated. Also the year in the old testament's calender is 5767 the number of years after Abraham founded Judaism. It does not make any sense that Abraham came only 233 years after earth came into existence. Also I am a chemistry major and have had experience with carbon dating, yes its results are consistent. Maybe its not in our human years its talking about in the bible. Maybe its counted in Gods years which is probably equivalent to eons in human years since God exists way up in the heavens away from earth and we exist on earth in which its year is 1 orbit around the sun. Have you ever thought of that? That idea seems to go more in harmony with science. Since a galactic year ( The amount of time our galaxy makes a full 360 degree rotation takes eons of earth years) so maybe god tells time by based off the galaxies rotation rather then earths orbit since he is way up in the heavens. Think about it.

No, that was an estimate made by a fundamentalist minister based only on things he found in the bible. Scientific evidence puts it at about 4 -5 billion years old.

No, it isn't only 6,000 years old. It is approximately 4.5 billion years old. And yes, I am a Christian. And yes, I read the Bible. But the Bible is not exactly a science textbook, is it?

Heh-heh-heh... Good one T. One has to throw away scientific fact and accept mythology as reality to think that it is only 6,000 years old. In other words, one'd have to be retarded.
