I found this weird looking spider today that I have never seen or heard of before, I'm no spider expert or anything like it so I'm wondering if anyone out there has seen this kind of spider before? It looked very much like a grasshopper (body structure) except it was black and gray and had 6 legs (like spiders) it had 2 antennas that were red near his head then black and yellow.

Arachnids also have fang-like mouthparts called "chelicerae" which insects do not have.

^ it had this I could clearly see 2 fangs.

6 legs that were like spider legs (did not have the distinctive "strong back legs" that crickets/grasshoppers have.)

Spiders have 8 legs.

Insects have 6 legs.

Insects have head and thorax as separate body-parts, but spiders have them united to form a so-called cephalothorax. Spiders do not have antennae, but insects do.

I suspect that your new spider may well have been a juvenile grasshopper or some sort of juvenile bug.

Spiders have 8 legs and no antennae. So whatever you found, it is an insect. Maybe it was a cave/camel cricket?

Spiders have 6 legs, huh? When did that happen?
