By combining Ohm's Law (V=IR) and Circuit Power (P=IV), we get P=V^2/R. This is done here:
V=IR (Ohm's Law)
V/R=I (Divide both sides by R)
P=V^2/R (Sub V/R into I in the power equation)

Solving it, plug in the variables:
P=V^2/R
P=(120^2)/(15)
P=960 Watts
Thus, the toaster used up total of 960 watts.

Amps = Volts/Resistance = 120/15 = 8 amps
Watts = Volts x Amps = 120 x 8 = 960 Watts.

power is watts. = volts x amps
